01 What is Evolution API?
Evolution API is an open-source project that puts a REST API in front of WhatsApp, so software can send and receive messages. You connect a WhatsApp number to your instance, then drive it from n8n or from your own application.
02 Do I need n8n to use it?
No. It is a standalone API and works with anything that can make an HTTP request. Most of our customers pair it with n8n because that is the quickest way to build a WhatsApp workflow without writing code.
03 Is this the official WhatsApp Business API?
No. Evolution API is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta. We host and maintain the software; using it within WhatsApp's terms of service is your responsibility.
04 How long does it take to deploy an instance?
Under a minute. Pick a plan, choose a subdomain, and your container is provisioned, proxied and issued an SSL certificate automatically — no setup steps on your side.
05 How do I pay?
